The exhibition “Galicia XXI. Design as an engine "is part of the project dissemination actions proposed by the Board of Galicia in the 2020 Design for Innovation Program developed by the Galician Innovation Agency (GAIN).
Coordinated by the DIDAC Foundation and its director, David Barro (curator), this exhibition will be part of the parallel exhibitions program at the first edition of the Porto Design Biennale and will be located at the WOW by FINSA - Interpretation Center os Wood created by FINSA, a Galician company of reference in its support to the design.
The exhibition will be inaugurated in October by the Council of Economy, Employment and Industry of the Xunta Galicia, who will visit the premises of this important space opened by FINSA. The exhibition will be accompanied by a discussion panel on the importance of design in Galicia and its integration into the business world. Will also be featured the publications "Galicia. Design as motor. Cases of success in Galicia," edited by GAIN.
EXHIBITION GALICIA XXI. DESIGN AS A MOTOR

The intention of Galicia XXI. Design as a motor is to help build a story that brings the gift of Galicia's creative potential into the field of design by bringing together what is happening in Galicia, but where group design and design in Galicia are leading to the work of High quality and strength relevance
This is a showcase of 21st century Galician design, including examples from some of the earlier artists, such as Luis Seoane, Isaac Diaz Pardo, Adolfo Domínguez, or Grupo Review.
The exhibition will also provide support and visibility to the two publications made by GAIN on Design for Innovation 2020: Galicia.

About PORTO DESIGN BIENNALE
Porto Design Biennale intends to promote, revitalize and internationalise the thinking and practice in design. The first edition will take place between September and December 2019 in several locations of Matosinhos and Porto. Around the Post Millennium Tension theme, the programme proposes a broad reflection on emerging transformations that mark the new millennium and the place of design in this framework of change. Comissioned by the Porto City Council and Matosinhos City Council, this event is organized by the esad-idea, Research in Design and Art, the investigation centre of ESAD/College of Art and Design.
