All organizations have an employer brand, be it consciously established, diligently cultivated or the result of benign neglect. With the transparency of social networks providing great visibility (with or without your consent), your employer brand acts as an advertising poster for your organization.
But then what exactly does employer branding mean? Many define this term as the reputation or image of an organization as a desired workplace in the minds of current employees, active and passive candidates, customers, and other stakeholders considered to be critical. It embodies the values, culture and work environment of the organization. However, like any source of potential advertising, the employer brand offers a promise that, if not met, can divert the attention of the right candidates, demotivate their team and contribute negatively to turnover.
